Zozibini Tunzi pays tribute to her late friend Cheslie Kryst; ‘I am not ready for a world you don’t exist in’ – Beauty Pageants – Indiatimes

The pageant community was in shock at the untimely death of Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst, who passed away in the wee hours on Sunday. The beauty queen, a lawyer by profession, was also on the National Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and worked as a correspondent for entertainment news site ExtraTV leaped to death from a high-rise building in New York. While the news came as a shock to her family, friends, and fans, another person who was terribly shaken by the incident was Cheslie’s close friend and former roommate, Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi.

Taking to Instagram, Zozi expressed her disbelief and paid a heartwarming tribute to the late queen. She wrote, “Cheslie, my friend, I am devastated. I didn’t sleep a wink, caught in between not believing the news and trying to make sense of what is happening. You were supposed to send me photos of the outfit you were going to wear to a wedding this past Saturday and all the details that happened at the event. You took me by surprise, Queen. I am not ready for a world you don’t exist in.”

The 30-year-old was crowned Miss USA back in 2019, and since then, the diva has been an inspiration to many across the globe. Just moments before her death, Cheslie took to Instagram with a post captioned, “May this day bring you rest and peace.”

“I hope you are resting easy now, love. You meant everything to so many people, and you forever will. You made a mark in this World and touched so many lives. We celebrate your life. I love you so, so much, my forever friend and forever Miss USA❤ RIP beautiful 🕊❤” Zozi concluded.

While few sources state that Cheslie left behind a note stating she wanted to leave everything to her mother, it does not mention the reason for her action.
