LUCKNOW: Following sustained rise in the number of new and active cases of covid-19 infection, the Uttar Pradesh government imposed night curfew (10pm to 6am) across all the 75 districts of the state.
Till now, the curfew was imposed in districts where the number of active cases crossed the 1000-mark. A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the Team-9, a core team handpicked by CM Yogi Adityanath to deal with Covid wave, here on Sunday.
The government also directed closure of all educational institutions till January 16. Studies through online medium may continue so that the examination and academic schedule don’t get affected.
Meanwhile, reviewing the status of vaccination in the state, CM Yogi Adityanath directed health officials to intensify the ongoing vaccination drive and saturate the entire eligible population by January 15. UP is home to 1.4 crore under-18 adolescents eligible for vaccination and so far over 23.7 lakh of them have taken the first dose.
