CHENNAI: In view of a surge in Covid-19 cases, the Tamil Nadu government on Monday postponed semester exams in all state universities scheduled to begin after January 20.
Higher education minister K Ponmudy said the revised schedule of the exams would be announced after the spike in Covid-19 cases come down.
Ponmudy said the state government’s decision would apply to even deemed universities in the state.
“Colleges have completed their syllabus for the previous semester. I request the students to prepare for the exams. The mode of exams will be decided later depending on the Covid situation,” he added.
Earlier, the state government had announced that the physical mode semester exams would be conducted in all colleges and universities after January 20. Following the spike in cases last week, the government declared study holidays to students.
