Kerala HC grants bail to Dileep in the alleged murder conspiracy case – Times of India

The Kerala High Court has pronounced the verdict in the anticipatory bail plea filed by actor Dileep apropos the alleged murder conspiracy case against the officers, who investigated the 2017 actress sexual assault case. On Monday, the Kerala High Court has reportedly granted the pre-arrest bail to Dileep, and others accused in the case of threatening the police officers. After two weeks of elaborate hearing, the bench headed by Justice Gopinath P has pronounced the verdict.

Dileep had moved for an anticipatory bail plea after a fresh FIR was registered in January against him and five others for allegedly entering into a criminal conspiracy and raising threats against the investigation officer and other senior officers who conducted the probe into the actor rape case, in which Dileep is the eight accused.

The Crime Branch had registered the case based on the recent revelations made by director Balachandra Kumar.

Meanwhile, the Kerala actor was abducted and allegedly molested inside her car for two hours on February 17, 2017, by a gang of men.

The survivor recently has spoken in public for the first time via her social media handle and spoke about her fight for justice. “This has not been an easy journey. The journey from being a victim to becoming a survivor. For 5 years now, my name and my identity have been suppressed under the weight of the assault inflicted on me. Though I am not the one who has committed the crime, there have been many attempts to humiliate, silence, and isolate me. But at such times I have had some who stepped forward to keep my voice alive. Now when I hear so many voices speak up for me I know that I am not alone in this fight for justice. To see justice prevail, to get wrongdoers punished, and to ensure no one else goes through such an ordeal again, I shall continue this journey. For all those who are standing with me – a heartfelt thank you for your love,” the survivor said in her note.
