Jitesh Sharma is an Indian cricketer who plays for Vidarbha. He was born on 22 October 1993 in Amrawati, Maharashtra. His full name is Jitesh Mohan Sharma. He is Right Hand Batsman and Wicketkeeper. He is currently playing for Punjab Kings in IPL. It is his debut IPL season and he is been looking good with the bat so far. He has seen many Ups and Downs in his cricketing journey.
The 28-year-old Batter played a useful knock of 26 (17 balls) in his debut game against CSK, 23 (11 balls) in his second match against the Gujarat Titans followed by an unbeaten 30 (15 balls) against Mumbai Indians.
Struggle and Sacrifice
In year 2017, Jitesh Consider his career at peak. He didn’t even made it to state team. It was like a drop from the mountain to him.

“I was obviously nervous facing my first ball but I gave it my all on the field ,” he said. “I was well cheered because of the crowd. I saw MS Dhoni was behind me and Ravindra Jadeja was bowling . DJ Bravo to my left side. Ambati Rayudu, Robin Uthappa were all around me, I’ve seen them on TV many time but never in real life, so their vibes can be felt around me,” he said.
My sacrifices and my hard work were there with me, that’s why I was confident and after the moment when my bat touched the ball for very first time, everything seems back to normal. I was very much in the game,” explained Sharma on how he battled away all the nerves.
Biggest Motivation
His father has been his greatest motivation for Jitesh. He was a businessman by profession but he used to play a lot of cricket. He also take part in tennis tournaments. Jitesh used to attend many prize distribution ceremonies with him. Jitesh got to inspired from there and thought for doing same for his father.
Jitesh has has his biggest cheerleader in his father, he also been a fan during his debut. “After the match, I called my father back seeing hiss missed call, even though I was hesitant because he has a strict routine. I called him around 12:30-1 am and he was awake but he usually sleeps by 10 pm. It was a happy moment for me. He was waiting for me to call back. He happily told me, ‘Well done, beta!’ Because I know he’s on cloud nine, when my dad uses only a few words,” the youngster said.

After his stellar debut against Chennai Super Kings scoring 23(11), he is having a good season so far. He has average of 30+ with the strike rate of 158+. He is a wicketkeeper batsman for Punjab and have a great season ahead. He had played an exceptional knock of 44 in game against DC, which showed his potential to perform in IPL. He had gained a lot of praise for his special knock.
