IAS Akshat Jain’s Family & Early Life
Akshat Jain was born in 1995 in Delhi to D.C Jain and Simmi Jain. His father has also worked with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as an advocate before becoming a Director in CBI. His Instagram Handle IAS Akash Jain
Akshat Jain is an alumnus of IIT Guwahati (IITG) and graduated in 2013. During his college days, he was active with Azim Premji Foundation. From 2016 till now, he has been pursuing a Ph.D. in management at the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Bangalore, India. He has also completed a Master’s degree in Strategic Management Program at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) in 2015.
IAS Akshat Jain’s UPSC Journey
Akshat was motivated by his own parents who are currently serving as civil servants. His father, Mr. D C Jain, is now the Joint Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), New Delhi, and his mother, Mrs. Simmi Jain, an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer is the ADG of the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN) in Jaipur.
Preparation Journey
Akshat has not attended any formal coaching for General Studies. He never felt the need of attending classes for more hours, instead, he would chalk down his own preparation goals for each day. He is very much interested in extracurricular activities during his graduation and school days. Akshat chose Anthropology as his optional subject and the main reason to make him choose the subject was the syllabus of the subject
Challenges faced
He also mentioned the rigorous study schedule that one has to follow while preparing for the exam, which can be a tough journey. While all the hard work has paid off in Akshat’s case, it might be difficult for other aspirants.
