WhatsApp Payments is a UPI-based service that was first launched in 2018 as part of beta testing. The feature was made available to all users in the country in November 2020. WhatsApp Payments has been developed in partnership with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and offers a real-time payment system in partnership with more than 227 banks.
The feature allows users to send and receive money instantly. It also enables them to check their bank account balance from the app. There are two methods to check your bank account balance. You can either check the balance from the Settings section on the app or view it from the payment screen when sending money.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to check your bank account balance using WhatsApp
Method 1: Checking your account balance from Settings
Open WhatsApp on your phone.
If you have an Android, tap More options. Tap on Settings if you have an iPhone.
Under Payment methods, tap the relevant bank account.
Here, tap View account balance and enter your UPI PIN.
Method 2: Checking your account balance when sending money
From the payment message screen, tap your available payment method.
Tap View account balance.
If you have multiple bank accounts linked to your WhatsApp account, select the relevant bank account.
