CHANDIGARH: At least one labourer was killed and two others injured after a landslide at Dadam mining zone of Tosham in Bhiwani district on Saturday morning. Three others were rescued out of the debris and were rushed to Hisar hospital.
About six dumper trucks and some machinery were also buried.
The deteriorating condition of the hill reserves could be a cause of the incident. It could have resulted into a slip of 100-feet wide rock, said PK Das, ACS revenue and disaster management.
“Around 12 to 15 people are feared buried,” Das added.
Haryana agriculture and farmers welfare minister Jai Parkash Dalal has rushed to the spot. He was joined by the deputy commissioner and superintendent of police.
Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar and Haryana BJP president Om Parkash Dhankar have expressed grief over the incident.
The state government said that entire operations is being monitored by teams of disaster management and local administration.
