NEW DELHI: Covid-19 cases in India continue to rise, even as states of Maharashtra and West Bengal on Saturday reported a marginal jump in infections, adding 41,434 and 18,802 cases to their tally respectively.
Here’s a brief representation of India’s Covid situation in 5 charts as on Saturday-
The tally of Omicron cases earlier today climbed to 3071, the government said in its health release.

Maharashtra added a total of 41, 434 cases to its swelling Covid-19 tally, a marginal increase in cases from 40, 925 from Friday.
The state of West Bengal saw an increase of 18,802 new infections in the last 24 hours.

Among the big cities, Mumbai reported the biggest rise in cases, adding 20, 318 new infections along with 5 more deaths.
Delhi recorded a single-day rise of 20,181 cases, taking the positivity rate to 19.6 per cent in the national capital.
The city had crossed the 5000-mark on Tuesday.

India had reported 1,41,986 fresh coronavirus cases on Saturday morning, taking the country’s total cases to 3,53,68,72.

Even though the jump in cases is huge in some states, the corresponding increase in deaths has not been as alarming as it was during the second wave.
The country reported 285 more fatalities on Saturday, pushing the total death toll to 4,83,463.
