NEW DELHI: A 21-year-old engineering student was detained by the Mumbai Police Cyber Cell in Bengaluru on Monday in connection with the ‘Bulli Bai‘ app case.
Mumbai Police have not revealed the identity of the suspect.

The controversial Bulli Bai app was reportedly launched on January 1, and contained a number of pictures of Muslim women including journalists, social workers, students and famous personalities, accompanied by derogatory content.
The app was later blocked by the hosting platform GitHub following complaints of objectionable content.
The police have registered a case against unknown culprits under relevant sections of IPC and the IT Act.
