aparna: BJP leader claims Mulayam Singh’s daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav to join saffron party | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: A senior BJP leader on Tuesday claimed that Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav‘s daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav will join the saffron party on Wednesday morning.
According to news agency ANI, Aparna is expected to meet BJP president JP Nadda tomorrow.
BJP leader Arun Yadav, who is also the state incharge of Haryana BJP, tweeted that Aparna’s induction into the BJP will happen in the presence of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath at 10am on Wednesday.

Aparna is the wife of Mulayam’s younger son Prateek Yadav.
Aparna Yadav has in the past lauded some initiatives of the BJP government. She also donated Rs 11 lakh to the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. She contested the 2017 assembly elections from Lucknow Cantt seat and finished second. She was defeated by Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate Rita Bahuguna Joshi and secured about 63,000 votes.
Led by Akhilesh Yadav, the elder son of Mulayam Singh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party is going all out to wrest power from the BJP in Uttar Pradesh.
If Aparna switches to the BJP ahead of the assembly elections as claimed by the BJP leader, it will be a big blow to the Samajwadi Party which has poached 11 MLAs including three ministers from the saffron camp.
The joining of prominent OBC leaders has given a boost to Akhilesh Yadav who has stiched alliances with several small parties for the assembly elections.
