Anushka Sharma issues statement after daughter’s first photos go viral; says ‘We would appreciate if Vamika’s images are not published’ – Times of India

Anushka Sharma has a request for all fans and the media after the first photos of her daughter Vamika Kohli went viral on social media.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the actress penned a statement, requesting fans and media portals not to publish photos of her daughter, saying that she wasn’t aware that the camera was on them.

“Hi guys! We realise that our daughter’s images were captured at the stadium yesterday and widely shared thereafter. We want to inform everyone that we were caught off guard and didn’t know that the camera was on us,” she wrote.

Assuring that their stand on the matter remains the same, she said, “Our stance and request on the matter stay the same. We would really appreciate it if Vamika’s images are not clicked/ published for reasons we have explained earlier. Thank You!”

Last year, the actress and her cricketer husband Virat Kohli, revealed why they wanted the paparazzi and fan clubs not to publish pictures or videos of their baby girl. In an Instagram post, the actress wrote, “We seek privacy for our child and would like to do our best to give her a chance to live her life freely away from media and social media. As she is older we cannot restrict her movement and hence your support is needed so kindly practice restraint in the matter.”

Shortly after the birth of their baby in January 2021, the couple appealed to the paparazzi to refrain from taking pictures. Anushka and Virat even made news when they sent a note to the paparazzi fraternity that read, “Hi, Thank you for all the love that you have given us for all these years. We are happy to celebrate this momentous occasion with you. As parents, we have a simple request to make to you. We want to protect the privacy of our child and we need your help and support.”

The first glimpse of Vamika’s face went viral on social media over the weekend after she was seen cheering for her dad from the stands. The toddler was snapped in mommy Anushka’s arms while they enjoyed watching Virat play on the field.

On the personal front, both Virat and Anushka have not shared photos of their daughter’s face on social media. As and when pictures of the cutie have been shared on the internet, her face has been blurred to respect her privacy.
