According to ANI, notices were issued to the Bachchan family asking them to explain their foreign remittances since 2004 under the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS). This controversy is called ‘Panama Papers’ because it came to light after an investigation of a stockpile of records from Panamanian legal firm Mossack Fonseca by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists named several world leaders and celebrities who had allegedly stashed away money abroad in offshore companies.
On the work front, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently wrapped the shooting of Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. She will reportedly essay a double role in this epic drama which is inspired from Kalki Krishnamurthy’s historical fiction novel by the same name.
